Running a Marathon

I’ve never run a marathon.

But I imagine that a marathon must be pretty easy. I personally know people who repeatedly sign up to join one after another. I don’t think they’d do it if it was a terrible experience,  right?

Over the last few weeks, a lot of people have compared our cancer journey to a marathon. Yes, the challenge is there and we’ve been persevering this whole time. Some days we win while other days we lose but unlike those races, we don’t see the finish line just yet. We feel tired (physically and psychologically) and short of breath and yet, we need to keep going.

Unfortunately, the analogy ends there. Although we are striving to win, there is no chance of us wanting to sign up again…EVER!

Maybe one day, I should run a marathon…a real one.
