It’s Ri’s fourth day of pain with the tube on her back. While it seemed like the air and fluid in her lung refused to be drained, today’s x-ray finally looked so much better. And so, the surgery team came at around 3:40pm to take out the tube.
Because of this newfound freedom, Ri was much happier walking around the hospital. I even managed to convince her to go with me to the observation deck on the 24th floor.
The moment we got there, she spotted the grand piano right away. When she sat down and started playing, I’ve never seen her happier since we arrived in Houston. It brought her so much pleasure that, suddenly, any kind of pain was forgotten and we stayed till the lights turned off on us.
Finally, Hodgegirl is in her element. And if only for a few moments with a piano, she doesn’t think this hospital stay and the pain were that bad.
